Camp Glen Gray
Deep in the heart of the Ramapo Valley, this rustic former Scout camp was established in 1917. When the County acquired the property in 2002, Glen Gray was one of the oldest Scout camps in operation in the country. Today, the camp is an outpost in the Ramapo Mountains that can accommodate groups of all sizes and needs.
In addition to hiking trails that connect to the greater regional trail network, the camp’s Lake Vreeland is equipped with boat rentals and ample fishing opportunities along its shore. Camping accommodations include cabins, leantos, and tent sites.
In the winter, wood stoves in the cabins will keep you warm. Additionally, many of the cabins also have electricity.
In keeping with the camp’s rustic mode, bathroom facilities at the campsites consist of latrines. Flush toilets are available in warm weather and located off the parking lot.
Your family or organization can play sports and games at Mary Post Field, or enjoy the campfire ring and amphitheater for an outdoor gathering or event. A dining hall (with a kitchen) may be used for indoor events and meals.
Camp Glen Gray is located near several points of interest, making it the perfect base camp for exploring the region. While feeling secluded from the hustle and bustle of modern life, the camp is never too far from modern amenities if one finds themselves.
Please note that all Camp Glen Gray facilities are only available to overnight campers. If interested in day trips, please visit the other sites in the Ramapo Valley County Reservation
