Signature Parks
Saddle River County Park
Saddle River County Park is a greenway connected park system composed of 8 areas joined by a multi-use pathway for pedestrians and bicyclists. While following Saddle River, the trail traverses the towns of Fairlawn, Glen Rock, Rochelle Park, and Saddle Brook.
Overpeck County Park
Overpeck County Park consists of about 800 acres that contain a wide variety of programming and amenities. Its eight main sections range in use from hiking to athletic fields to horseback riding and an aerodrome
Van Saun County Park
Amenities in Van Saun range from ball fields, to picnic areas, to state-of-the-art playgrounds and splash pads, to pony rides, a millennium carousel, a miniature train ride and the Bergen County Zoo.

Saddle Ridge Horseback Riding Area
Saddle Ridge is perfect for anyone interested in horseback riding. All levels of experience are encouraged to come check out the horses and start riding today!
Darlington County Park
County Park offers various activities centered around their three beautiful lakes. Swimming and fishing are complemented by basketball and volleyball courts, as well as quiet spots for a picnic or barbecue.
Samuel Nelkin County Park
Samuel Nelkin County Park is equipped with a pond, baseball field, tennis courts, a dog park and playground. Samuel Nelkin County Park offers a scenic path that passes by the pond and large, open field.
Campgaw Mountain County Reservation
Explore over 1,000 acres of land at the Campgaw Mountain Reservation and play a round of disc golf, try the archery range or hit the slopes.
Wood Dale County Park
Visit Wood Dale County Park and get the whole family active (even the dog!) with their selection of multiple courts and fields, hiking trails, a fitness station and, of course, a dog park.
Pascack Brook County Park
The Pascack Brook County Park is the perfect spot to go for a nice afternoon of fishing on a fully stocked pond or model boating. Pascack Brook also comes equipped with baseball fields, tennis courts and basketball courts.
Riverside County Park North & South
The Riverside County Park is home to over 15 courts and fields including lawn bowling, soccer, tennis and more. Don’t forget to take advantage of the kayak launch as well and enjoy a day on the water.
Nature Driven Parks
Ramapo Valley County Reservation
The largest park in the Bergen County park system. The reservation is home to 22 miles of well-maintained walking trails and beautiful views of the lake, reservoir, and thousands of acres of forest.
Camp Glen Gray
It offers an overnight campground with amenities such as a well shaded hiking trail network, swimming area, amphitheater, and plenty of spots to have a picnic.
James A. McFaul Environmental Center
The perfect place to go to expand your knowledge of the great outdoors by taking guided tours, viewing displays and exhibits, or walking by the outdoor animal enclosures and a waterfowl pond.
Artesian Fields
The walking trail at the Artesian Fields is a comfortable walk through a great Bergen County Park. The trail is flanked by baseball fields and an opening to a hiking area.
Borg’s Woods Nature Preserve
It consists of a small walking trail that showcases the natural beauty of Bergen County, with lots of shade and many friendly faces.
Hackensack River Pathway
With a beautiful overlook of the Hackensack River, a bird lookout and cobbled walking path the Hackensack River County Park continues to serve as a perfect place to go for a walk.
Belmont Hill & Dahnert’s Lake County Park
A rose garden and expansive recreation field, The New World Monument and a gazebo with magnificent views of Dahnert’s Lake line Bergen County’s Belmont Hill and Dahnert’s Lake Parks.
Golf Courses
Darlington County Golf Course
The 18-hole course set in the Ramapo Mountains offers a nice challenge to any golfer via its water features and narrow fairways.
Rockleigh County Golf Course
Consisting of an 18-hole course as well as a 9-hole course. The 18-hole course demands excellent play and hosts the annual BC Amateur Championship. The 9-hole course is a short course that allows players a good practice space.
Valley Brook County Golf Course
A course that caters to the most accurate golfer. Valley Brook features challenging water hazards and numerous bunkers that will test all skill levels.
Solider Hill County Golf Course
Formerly known as Emerson Golf Course*
This traditional 18-hole course offers many picturesque views of their challenging course. On the front 9 players must negotiate various water hazards before taking on the tree lined fairways on the back 9.
Orchard Hills County Golf Course
Formerly known as Orchard Hills Country Club touting players like Babe Ruth and Joe Lewis this 9-hole course employs its rolling hills and beautiful views to keep players coming back
Overpeck County Golf Course
This 18-hole course requires precision unlike any other. With the Overpeck Creek and other bodies of water at play for almost every hole.
Historic & Cultural Parks
Hackensack water Works & Van Buskirk Island Park
This park contains history in its old filtration tower and nearby park. There are walking paths and a paddle launch available for use.
Gethsemane Cemetery
The Gethsemane Cemetery holds centuries of history. In the 1800s, the site was made as “A burial ground for the colored population of Hackensack”.
Historic New Bridge Landing
The site along the path of General George Washington’s retreat is filled with significant historical sites like the Steuben House where you can learn all about Bergen County’s role in the Revolutionary War.
Camp Merritt Memorial Monument
A monument to the 1 million servicemen that passed through the New Jersey Port of Embarkation during World War 1 was erected in 1924 in Cresskill.
Wortendyke Barn
This historic barn houses exhibits from the original 460-acre Wortendyke Farm, the agricultural history of Bergen, as well as farming tools dating back to the 18th century.
Baylor Massacre Burial Site
The Baylor Massacre Burial site contains a memorial for the troops who suffered from a surprise attack during the Revolutionary War.
Garretson Farm
Founded in 1719, the Garretson Farm is home to a well maintained garden, butterfly waystation and monuments. The farm offers tours, has various arts and crafts stations as well as a large selection of historic and interesting buggies.
